The commercial industrial gases market in Cambodia was estimated to have generated revenues of just below $22m in 2018. This was up from just over $6m in 2008, indicating an average annual growth rate of 13.4% p.a. for the decade.
The Cambodian economy has grown by approximately 606% p.a on average since 2006. Most of this has been related to expansion within the garments, construction, agriculture, and tourism sectors. Cambodia nonetheless remains a poor country, with all the usual challenges common to many developing countries (including corruption, limited educational opportunities, high income inequality, and poor job prospects).
Within the 2018-2023 timeframe, gasworld business intelligence predict growth from 7.9% p.a. in a low scenario to 8.2% p.a. in a high scenario. Accordingly, the industry in is expected to achieve revenues of between $31.5m to $31.9m by 2023.
